Maybe updating the server to a 1.8 snapshot? POLL NoW

on August 8th 2014, 15:03
The 1.8 snapshots are pretty much stable, the biggest bug being "ghost blocks" which means that once you break a block, it's gone but it looks like it's still there. They really don't affect gameplay and can be deleted via updating them by placing a block, a torch, etc. I'm just curious on your opinions, and the only difference will be that we won't have plug-ins, which we barely have anyway.

Major's on upgrading....
our spawn bug will probably be fixed.
big fps boost and stablization
banners
bunnies
new enchanting....

IGNORE THE POLL

I think it will be better to wait, as the anti-grief tool we use does not support any snapshot versions.

On the other hand though, we could wait to whitelist more people and just have the people we already trust play in game if you are concerned about greifing. But also offical 1.8 is probably right around the corner and I'm sure there will be a bukkit server available as soon as it drops.

I'd have to say no on the snapshots. They aren't as stable as people make them sound and there's a lot more exploits viable in snapshots. The FPS boost is only if you have a computer who's graphics card can use the new tools given by 1.8. Otherwise it's not that big an increase. Ghost blocks would drive me insane, and I know I would stop playing until that was fixed/removed.

Also, the bed problem is a problem with the permissions setup, not the .jar number.

If 1.8 does not come out within the next month or so, I believe we should upgrade to the newest snapshot versions.

Also, I believe that the grief protection thingy, breaks the breaking through the nether roof trick. As I can do it in a vanilla world, But I can't do it here. and we really don't have any griefers, we always have consistent people on and we still haven't even taken the dragon, so maybe we should update Razz

Please no upgrading, the new snapshots are really buggy and break a lot of things!

The ghost blocks are a pain too ;C
